My Art
"Creativity comes from within. And then you just have to do it."
My artworks are created in a free and intuitive process, usually over days or even weeks. Sometimes a work rests until I feel that I want to continue painting it. The works all have several layers, giving them a special depth and tension. I use very high-quality acrylic and oil pastel paints, a wide variety of tools and aids: brushes, painting knives, ink, spray, and I really enjoy experimenting with new materials.
I find my inspiration when travelling, in nature and during short breaks in everyday life. An idea usually comes to me in a quiet moment, when my mind is switched off and I can give free rein to my creativity.
About me.
My name is Caroline. I am cheerful and open-minded. I love to travel, am enthusiastic about sports, and am always on the lookout for new creative inspiration. My love of travel has taken me to many beautiful places around the world, both professionally and privately. After years in the UK, Spain, and South Africa, my husband, my two children, and I have now settled in the "Rhineland", close to Düsseldorf. Here, I can fully express my creativity. Travel has always inspired me artistically and given me new ideas for my work. Travel opens your eyes to new cultures and values, just as it opens your eyes to art. A world trip lasting several months provided the inspiration for many of my works, and I am delighted to share these personal memories.
